Der Dreiteiler ist das eleganteste Stück Tailoring — und das am leichtesten falsch getragene. Eine schlecht sitzende Weste ruiniert den ganzen Anzug.
The three-piece is the most elegant piece of tailoring — and the easiest to wear wrong. A poorly fitted waistcoat ruins the entire suit.
Wo die Weste sitzen muss
Die unterste Knopfreihe bleibt offen. Der Hosenbund darf nie sichtbar sein — die Weste bedeckt ihn um mindestens 2 cm. Rücken: Satin oder gleicher Stoff wie vorn (nie sichtbar unter dem Jackett).
Where the waistcoat must sit
Bottom button stays open. The trouser waistband must never show — the waistcoat covers it by at least 2 cm. Back: satin or matching fabric (never visible under the jacket).
Lapel oder kein Lapel
Eine Weste mit eigenem Revers (Lapel) wirkt formeller und passt zu Hochzeiten oder Galaabenden. Ohne Revers ist es die Standardvariante für Business und Alltag.

A waistcoat with its own lapel reads more formal and suits weddings or galas. Without lapels is the standard for business and everyday.

Winter: Flanell, Tweed, Wolle-Kashmir. Sommer: Frescolana, Wolle-Seide-Leinen, High-Twist. Ein Dreiteiler in Leinen ist möglich, knittert aber dramatisch — nur für entspannte Anlässe.
Fabrics & season
Winter: flannel, tweed, wool-cashmere. Summer: frescolana, wool-silk-linen, high-twist. A linen three-piece is possible but creases dramatically — only for casual occasions.
Wann das Jackett ablegen?
Genau dafür gibt es die Weste. Beim Dinner, am Stehtisch, während der Rede — Jackett zurückhängen, Weste bleibt. Der Look bleibt formell und gepflegt.
When to remove the jacket?
That's precisely what the waistcoat is for. At dinner, at the standing table, during the speech — jacket off, waistcoat stays. The look remains formal and composed.
